Jethro Kloss’s Herbal Liniment

An all purpose liniment for sprains, strains, bruises and insect bites. An effective antiseptic, it has been called the herbal sister to Betadine. It dries up canker sores in the mouth and is good for treating poison oak and ivy.
2 oz powdered Myrrh
1 oz powdered Goldenseal
½ oz powdered Cayenne pepper
1 qt 100 proof vodka
Combine all ingredients in a wide mouth quart canning jar and cap tightly. Agitate daily for 14 days, then strain, press through cheesecloth and pour into clean storage bottle. Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
