Professor Cayenne’s Tonic

This tonic was formulated by herbalist Richard Shultz, also known as Professor Cayenne. It is a great remedy for colds and flu. Use it when you feel a cold coming on. It also makes a delicious salad dressing.

½ cup finely chopped garlic
½ cup finely chopped onion
½ cup finely chopped horseradish
½ cup finely chopped ginger root
½ cup finely chopped parsley
1/8 cup finely chopped fresh or powdered cayenne pepper
Raw apple cider vinegar (must be unpasteurized, “live” vinegar contributes to the healing qualities of this formula)

Pack all ingredients into a quart wide-mouth canning jar and fill with raw vinegar. Agitate daily for 14 days. Strain, press, filter and bottle.
